6月5日是世界环境日，今年世界环境日的主要庆祝活动将在美国旧金山市举行。联合国环境规划署的公告说，确定“营造绿色城市”的主题是为了使城市公民都能成为可持续和公平发展的积极推动者。
联合国大会1972年10月通过决议，决定将每年的6月5日定为“世界环境日”，同时决定成立联合国环境规划署。
The United Nations Environment Program has revealed that World Environment Day 2005 will be themed Green Cities, Plan for the Planet.
The UNEP statement says the main international celebrations of the World Environment Day 2005 will be held in the US city of San Francisco.
The theme is aimed at empowering people to become active agents of sustainable and equitable development.
The World Environment Day, commemorated each year on June 5th, is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.
